Overview

The ESTIMATOR’s core responsibilities are to obtain an early understanding of the Project scope; to compile accurate cost estimates aligned with the Project requirements; to create initial construction and critical path schedules utilizing P6; to manage Proposal preparation and delivery; to effectively turnover assembled Project data to the Project Management team, and to apply GROUP’s principles of integrity and professionalism during the entire Preconstruction process.

Responsibilities

 To be successful in this position the candidate should have knowledge and experience estimating civil & building construction.

  

  • Visit project work sites, clarify scope of work, and prepare cost estimates and proposals.
  • Evaluate projects for constructability and value-engineer cost savings.
  • Develop and implement strategies to self-perform and to outsource the various aspects of a project to achieve the projects objectives of price, schedule and quality. Participate in weekly staff meetings.

 

 

Qualifications

  1. Experience in estimating PEMB, Precast, CMU, etc.)
  2. Experience with buildings that have no interior build out such as warehouses to buildings that are fully detailed by architectural firms for build-out
  3. Needs to be able to estimate simple civil scopes (matt slabs, grade beams, heavy-ups, simple footers)
  4. Will need to be open to spending possibly 2 -3 months in BR upon hire for training
  5. 2 Years of Experience with HeavyBid, an HCSS product.
  6. Understanding of Bid Packages, Drawings and typical Construction Documents
  7. Knowledge of safe work practices
  8. Ability to effectively communicate with Owners, Subcontractors, and Suppliers
  9. Subcontractor/Supplier prequalification and solicitations
  10. Ability to develop comprehensive work scopes
  11. Preparation of accurate quantity takeoffs
  12. Turnover of estimates to Project Management after Bid Award
  13. Energetic, committed to producing a complete, effective work product
  14. Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry.

  15. Must hold a TWIC card.
  16. Must have OSHA Card.
  17. Must pass Drug and Alcohol screen.
  18. Must undergo audiogram.
